Why We’re Asking for Your Support

We are a new nonprofit with deep roots. The Dwyer Coalition was born from years of statewide organizing and peer support coordination. In 2025, we officially launched our nonprofit status—and now, we need your help to carry this mission forward.

Your donation doesn’t just fund programs. It funds Veteran sponsorships, youth scholarships, statewide advocacy, and the operational backbone that keeps all of it moving.

This work can’t happen without real support—and that starts with you.

What Your Donation Can Do

• $250-                                                 Contributes toward regional travel costs for a Veteran or family member to attend a peer session

• $500-                                                 Funds a full scholarship for one military-connected youth (2027 cycle)

• $1,000-                                              Sponsors two scholarships or strengthens statewide coordination infrastructure

We budget every dollar with care—and only expand as donations grow. We’ll never promise what we can’t deliver.

Why You Don’t See “Retreat Sponsorships” Yet

We’re working right now to establish hotel and venue partnerships across New York State. These future collaborations will allow us to offer full retreat sponsorships for Veterans and families, with fixed pricing and clear criteria. Until then, your support helps us lay that foundation—so that when the time comes, we're ready.

Where Your Money Goes — Full Transparency

We believe in saying what most nonprofits won’t.

Every nonprofit needs operations. We need staff, digital tools, insurance, and infrastructure. We also need to print materials, manage statewide coordination, and run advocacy campaigns that make Veteran and family voices heard.

Here’s a realistic breakdown of how your donation may be used:

        Out of $100 donated           Estimated Allocation (Startup Phase)

• $65–70                                   Direct program support (scholarships, event sponsorships, outreach)

• $20–25                                   Operations (staffing, bookkeeping, technology, insurance)

• $5–10                                     Communications and platform tools to reach all 62 counties

Our long-term goal is to shift closer to an 80/20 program-to-operations model as we grow recurring funding.

Donation Receipts & Tax Info

The Dwyer Coalition for Military Veterans & Families, Inc. is a registered nonprofit in New York State. Our 501(c)(3) application was submitted in April 2025 and is currently awaiting approval. Once approved, all donations will be retroactively tax-deductible from your original date of giving.
